libhepmc-dev software package provides Event Record for Monte Carlo Generators - development files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libhepmc-dev
libhepmc-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libhepmc-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libhepmc-dev *
You will get with libhepmc-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
